Pastor Bob White
Senior Pastor
Pastor Bob grew up in Hudson, Ohio, and has spent more than 20 years serving in ministry, much of that in college ministry, including at GCC.
He holds a doctorate in Christian Ministries and loves teaching the Bible and helping people grow closer to Jesus.
Serving at Bethany is truly a family affair—his wife, Becky, is on staff too, and their four kids are always happy to jump in and help with church events and ministries.
Bob loves being a pastor at a small church because no two days are quite the same!
He especially enjoys getting to know the people of Mercer and being part of their journey with Jesus. When he’s not at church, you’ll likely find him enjoying the outdoors, especially a good walk around Mercer or a day at the beach.

Pastor Bill Woodman
Pastor of Care 
Pastor Billy grew up in Boardman, Ohio, and has spent many years faithfully serving the church.
He holds an M.Div. and served for many years as pastor of Center Presbyterian Church in Grove City, while also providing significant support and leadership within the EPC denomination.
Billy has a deep love for the gospel and loves joyfully sharing the good news wherever he can. Known for his contagious joy, he brings warmth, encouragement, and a genuine love for people wherever he goes.  

He is especially thankful for the support of his family, including his wife Cindy, son, Joshua, and their dog, Belle.

Mike Peterson
Director of Music
Mike is a lifelong Mercer local who actually grew up attending Bethany. With more than 10 years of experience as a musician, Mike has performed with his band at venues and events throughout the Mercer area.

Now, he’s excited to serve as Bethany’s Music Director and share his love of music alongside his wife, Kat, who serves and sings with him.

Their daughter, Abby, also loves being part of the Bethany family!
Outside of church and music, Mike enjoys checking out local restaurants and businesses and finding new favorites around town.

Evelyn Dickinson 
Director of Bethany Kids
Evie grew up in New Wilmington, PA, watching her mom serve as a Kids Leader—an experience that helped shape her love for children’s ministry.

Today, she loves sharing the love of Jesus with kids at Bethany through games, crafts, singing, and plenty of fun!

She’s especially grateful to serve alongside her mom and sister, who both volunteer in her ministry.

One of her favorite things about Mercer is the strong sense of community.

Micah Wojnowski 
Director of Bethany Youth
Micah was born in South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, but has called Mercer home for most of his life.
With a degree in education and a passion for helping students grow, Micah is currently pursuing his M.Div. at Liberty University.
He loves watching the teens at Bethany mature in their faith and grow in their biblical knowledge from year to year.
One of his favorite things about Mercer is the strong sense of community—you can hardly go anywhere without running into at least three to five people you know!

Steve Amsler 
Church Administrator 
Steve is originally from Knox in Clarion County and has called Mercer home since his twenties.
Before joining the Bethany team, he worked as an administrator for the Parole Board, experience that has served him well in his current role.
He enjoys solving problems, keeping things organized, and making sure things run smoothly so others can focus on what they do best.
He’s also glad to serve alongside his wife, Pat, who is Bethany’s Clerk of Session and helps out in many other ways.
For him, one of the best things about Mercer is its small-town feel, affordability, and great community.

Beverly Crawford 
Administrative Assistant 
Beverly is originally from New Castle, PA, and has called Hermitage home since 2011. She brings years of experience serving the church in just about every way imaginable—from teaching Sunday School and leading AWANA to serving as a camp counselor, VBS teacher, decorator, auditor, and even mowing the grass!
 At Bethany, Beverly loves being part of a church family that is kind, loving, and passionate about doing God’s work. Her creative side comes out through designing the church newsletter and bulletin.

She also enjoys the quaint, small-town charm of Mercer—and you might even find her wondering if that Crawford name on the sanctuary stained glass is part of her family tree!

Becky White

Becky grew up in Stockbridge, Michigan, a small town not too different from Mercer, and has called Mercer home for the past several years. She holds a BS in Public Relations and Advertising from Spring Arbor University and has spent more than 10 years as a family photographer.
At Bethany, Becky considers herself the church’s “storyteller,” sharing the amazing things God is doing through the church and helping others see what makes Bethany such a special place.
She loves serving alongside her husband, Pastor Bob, and seeing how their different gifts work together—they make a pretty great team! Together, they have four amazing kids: Robbie, Andy, Ellie, and Lucy.
Her favorite thing about Mercer? The friends she’s made here!
