Serving our community is the cornerstone of Bethany Church. There are many ways to do so and use your unique gifts to help build the kingdom and our community.

Volunteer FAQ

How do I volunteer?

We welcome everyone to participate in our outreach programs and activities. We need folks to donate their time to oversee our many community-oriented programs.

How do I volunteer with children and students?

There are three required clearances or steps by the state of Pennsylvania for volunteers.
1.  Report of criminal history from the Pennsylvania State Police. https://epatch.pa.gov/home
2.  Child Abuse History Clearance from the Department of Public Welfare. https://www.compass.state.pa.us/CWIS
3.  There are two options here.
(A).  A fingerprint based Federal criminal history (FBI) submitted through the Pennsylvania State Police or it authorized agent is required if the volunteer has lived outside the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in the last 10 years.   This is co-sponsored through the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services. https://uenroll.identogo.com/ (service code 1KG6ZJ)**

3(B.) If the volunteer has lived inside the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for the last 10 continuous years, a notarized affirmation of residency is required.   Click here for an Affirmation of Residency Form.

**Use service code 1KG6ZJ.  The closest fingerprint center is in Grove City at the MIU4.  Click here for directions.

How do I share my musical talents?

Contact Andrew Kraus if you would like to share your musical talents by praising the Lord through song.
Several additional requirements are established by the elders and staff at Bethany Church.

1)  Each volunteer 13 years or older needs to fill out a volunteer application, signed participation covenant, and references.  Click here.
2)  Each volunteer needs to attend a Bethany specific training for Child Protection and new Safety & Lockdown Procedures.  Call 724-662-4340 to see when the next training is offered.
3)  Further training is suggested and is required for employees and camp staff.  This Act 31 training is helpful for anyone and sometimes is offered "live" at Bethany.  Click here for this 3 hour online training.
