The First Rebellion

This sermon on Genesis 3 explores why there is pain, brokenness, and evil in the world by looking at humanity’s first sin in the Garden of Eden. We see how Satan’s lies led Adam and Eve to doubt God’s goodness, try to “be their own gods,” and step outside His loving boundaries—bringing shame, death, and separation from God into human experience. The message highlights the importance of knowing and trusting God’s Word to resist temptation, and then turns to the hope we have in Jesus Christ, the second Adam, whose obedient death on the cross and resurrection overcome sin, death, and shame for all who turn to Him in faith.
