Showers of Blessing

May 3, 2026

This powerful message invites us to experience the abundant life God offers through the imagery of showers of blessings. Drawing from Ezekiel 34, Psalm 23, and John 10, we discover Jesus as our Good Shepherd who actively seeks us out when we wander, provides for our needs, and leads us beside still waters. The contrast between corrupt shepherds who muddy the waters for others and the Good Shepherd who prepares a table before us in the presence of our enemies reveals a profound truth: our faith journey isn't about self-preservation but about receiving God's provision while caring for others. We're challenged to examine whether we're polluting the fountain or sharing God's blessings with those around us. The message reminds us that even in seasons of dryness, sorrow, or struggle, God sends appropriate showers of blessing—comfort in grief, hope in despair, and renewal in barrenness. Like the spring rains that bring new growth after winter's death, God's grace is more than sufficient and His mercy boundless. We're called not to turn away from God during difficult seasons but to turn toward Him, knowing that His blessings are infinitely greater than what we're asking. This isn't about earning salvation through good works, but about responding in gratitude to what Christ has already done, producing fruit that demonstrates our care for the least of these.
