What does it mean to be made in the image of God?

Scripture tells us that humanity is the pinnacle of God’s creation—formed with intention, dignity, and purpose. Both men and women are created in God’s likeness, which means every person has inherent value, worth, and significance. Even though sin has distorted that image, God has not abandoned His creation. Through Jesus Christ, the image of God in us is being restored, drawing us back into relationship with Him and with one another. Understanding this truth shapes how we view ourselves, how we treat others, and how we live out our faith in the world.
